VALKY

april 2024 - august 2025

The “Help-Points in Ukraine” project is being implemented in the city of Valky (Kharkiv region) by Hilfswerk International Representative Office in Ukraine and Hilfswerk International, with financial support from Nachbar in Not.

Our goal is to improve access to psychosocial and mental health support for vulnerable internally displaced persons and local residents. We are creating more opportunities for social integration and participation in recreational activities, as well as providing the necessary protection

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

– Vulnerable IDPs and local residents will have improved access to psychosocial and mental support activities.

– Vulnerable IDPs and local residents will have improved access to social integration support services, recreational activities and protection.

FOCUS AREA

Open space

The space provides a welcoming environment for conversation, tea or coffee, and activities like board games etc. It offers a break from daily stress. It fosters a sense of community and belonging and provides a space for mutual support. By encouraging social interaction and recreation, the space reduces isolation and supports mental well-being.

Psychological Sessions

Professional psychologists conduct individual and group sessions to provide emotional support, develop coping strategies, and promote mental health and psychosocial well-being among affected individuals.

Child-friendly space

The space provides a safe and supportive environment where children can play, learn, and freely express themselves. Through structured activities, creative engagement, space helps children cope with stress, build resilience, and regain a sense of normalcy through play, creativity, and social interaction, supporting their emotional well-being and development in a safe, nurturing environment.

Social integration activities

The activities are designed to be inclusive and varied. They include educational workshops, skill-development training sessions, art therapy sessions for emotional expression and healing, and physical activities to promote health and wellness. These activities facilitate the integration of IDPs into community life.
