Help-Point

ZLATOPIL

The REKRUMO project is implemented by Hilfswerk International in Ukraine and Hilfswerk International (Austria) with funding from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection.

The aid station operates in the city of Zlatopil, Kharkiv region. We strive to reduce suffering and improve the mental health and well-being of vulnerable groups affected by the war in Ukraine. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the sustainable strengthening of social protection systems in Ukraine to support both the long-term management and the immediate alleviation of the negative socioeconomic consequences of the armed conflict in Ukraine. Particular emphasis is placed on addressing the needs of vulnerable and poverty-affected population groups, including women, children and youth, older people, people with disabilities, and internally displaced persons.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

  • Provide immediate relief to social protection systems and combat poverty by improving social integration, mental health, gender equality, and the inclusion of people with disabilities, while meeting basic socioeconomic needs. The goal is to ease the burden on social protection systems and stabilize and enhance the living conditions of vulnerable and impoverished groups.

  • Strengthen social protection systems sustainably and prevent poverty by building the capacity of public administrations, social service sectors, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. The goal is to enhance resilience to multiple crises and enable these groups to lead autonomous and dignified lives.
FOCUS AREA

Mental Health Sessions

Professional psychologists conduct individual and group sessions to provide emotional support, develop coping strategies, and promote mental health and psychosocial well-being among affected individuals.

Awareness Sessions

Awareness sessions for women, girls, men, and boys to prevent SGBV and SEA, promote gender equality, and improve MHM. The sessions include the distribution of dignity kits and informational materials to support safety, well-being, and access to services.

Distribution of Food and Hygiene Kits

A mobile team will deliver essential food, hygiene, and emergency kits to vulnerable individuals affected by conflict, including those with reduced mobility.

Activities for People with Disabilities

Inclusive measures, joint events, and activities empower vulnerable people with disabilities on their way to a self-determined and discrimination-free life.

Gender and Inclusion Trainings

Training sessions for public institutions, social services, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders on gender equality, the prevention of gender-based violence, inclusion, and the support of persons with  disabilities.

Social Integration Activities

In the form of community programs, social activities, children friendly space, and meeting in and around the Help-Point day center, which are initiated and operated by the project.

Mobile Team Support for Vulnerable, Conflict-Affected Persons

The Mobile Team provides essential support to conflict-affected persons with reduced mobility. Recognizing that these individuals often face significant challenges accessing basic goods due to physical limitations and financial hardship, the team delivers food and hygiene kits directly to their homes. This targeted assistance improves food security and access to non-food items (NFIs), helping to meet their immediate socioeconomic needs. The distribution of these supplies is part of a broader Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) program designed to offer comprehensive care and promote the well-being of those most in need.
